The last two nights I have had two of the same problems. The first time was "odd" and the second time was "scary". If anyone has experienced this or knows where the problem may lie, please advise. I suspect a relay somewhere but haven't begun to check it out.

Here is what has happened. The first night I returned from the store and began to exit the truck. I flipped the driver's side power door lock and all lights went out including delayed headlights and delayed domelight. Then the power lock would not operate. I started the car and everything else was working except I had no exterior lights, no dome or instrument lights, and the locks were not operating. Everything else worked to include AC, radio, and wipers, etc. This went on for about two minutes then the lights started flashing real fast for about 30 seconds then stayed on.

The next night I was riding as passenger with wife driving about 75 miles into a 100 mile trip home on a two lane dark highway in north Texas in the dark of night (11pm). I reached over to roll up window and inadvertantly hit the passenger side door lock. HOLY S*^T!! Same thing happened. Luckily the emergency flashers still worked which not only let the guy behind us know we were still there and didn't get sucked up by aliens, but also let us see enough to find the side of the road and eventually a side road. Well after sitting for a couple of minutes and fiddling around they started flashing and then the lights came back on and we made it home safely.

Anyone else unlucky enough to have experienced this strange phenomenom or know where to stasrt looking? It seems like a bad contact in a relay to me, but not sure where to look.

Thanks for any advise.

Sounds like a problem in the security module...

Have the bcm (body control module) and the wire sensors  at the key cylinders checked out.

Have you added anything to your vehicle lately ex. Alarm, foglights, etc?

I installed an Avistart 3300 remote start/alarm system about 18 months ago. Haven't had any problems before now. I might pull out the alarm since I don't really use it. Today I noticed the dome light flicker a few times when I got out of the car. I am going to check ground #G208 on the Central Timer Module. I have a feeling the module is going bad.
