Help I have a1981 mercury cougar that has been turned into a sleeper but somebody stole the original radio out of it , go figure, now i can't find a wireing diagram to give me the color codes so that I can put in an aftermarket sterio Thanks

I don't know for sure but this might work check if you have this wire combination and put a meter on the wires carrying current to be sure:
Constant 12V+               Light Green
Switched 12V+               Yellow/Black
Ground                      Chassis
Illumination               Blue/Red
Dimmer                      n/a
Antenna Trigger             ORANGE / Blue
Left Front (+)              Green
Left Front (-)              BLACK/ White
Right Front (+)             WHITE/ Red
Right Front (-)             BLACK/ White
Left Rear (+)               Pink/Red
Left Rear (-)               Pink/Blue
Right Rear (+)              Pink/Blue
Right Rear (-)              GREEN/ Red
