All 2003 trucks and SUVs including the Hummer H2 are now Class2 just like the 2002 Envoy, TrailBlazer and Bravada. Vehicles with Bose have a Class2 amplifier which is controlled by data.  Currently we have a SWI-X steering wheel audio control interface that works and are have an interface for replacing the stock radio with an aftermarket one and still retain OnStar®. At the same time we will have a doorlock interface with bulit in window roll up/down feature with a door trigger output.

No it's the Direct Electronics ( out of Canada ). It's for the ( GMDL4 ) - GMC Pick Up 2003 &  Yukon Denali 2003. They Are $ 55.00 USD for this bypass.
  • Data interface kit provides complete integration to the factory doorlocks and security system with any aftermarket remote starter and/or alarm system.
  • Factory personalization features such as: Drivers Seat, Mirror, and Radio station preset memory are maintained with the installation of this kit with any remote aftermarket system. *(Driver #1 only)
  • Doorlock interface kit will: Disarm/rearm GM factory security system as well as unlock and lock doors.
  • Factory priority unlock feature: Drivers door unlock (First press) and passenger door unlock (Second press) is maintained
  • Easy to install kit eliminates the need for relays and does not require the door panels to be removed.
*Note the GMDL4 kit interfaces with the FACTORY doorlock and intrusion alarm system only. If you are installing a remote starter you will also need a transponder bypass kit to bypass the TRANSPONDER PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM.

I too am looking for the newest interfaces as "remote-start season" is already kicked into gear at our store.  As a faithful user of DEI interfaces 555U, 555F, ect.....on our remote-start systems, I am yet to hear if DEI has any new pieces coming out for the 2002 and newer vehicles, I am wondering if anybody else has heard anything?  I was told that DEI had a new transponder adapter coming out for GM vehicles that did not require you to have an extra key, as in the past.  I have ordered a few of the peripheral pieces for interfacing with the locking systems in the newer vehicles (DLGM 1-4) but havent really had much chance to try them out yet to see how they work.  Isn't  it just wonderful how they keep making things tougher and tougher to work on. I would just love to work on those mid-90's vehicles again...things were so much simpler then!  This will be my eighth year of installing remote-start systems and I am thankful for every year of experience I have under my belt, because if I was a young installer having to dive into one of these newer vehicles without the experience that I do have, I think I would be very intimidated.  We currenty use 3 wiring information sources in our store before we start an installation...and it is amazing even the discrepencies that there are between them for finding the same wires in a given vehicle.  I can't emphasize enough to younger installers how important it is to research each and every vehicle in detail before you start it...and to check each and every wire with a digital multimeter before  tying into it.  Beware of these newer vehicles.....One litlle mistake could be a very costly one.

Dido to the above post. We currently have been using bypass modules for the 2002-2003 vehicles at our shop for a while and they are great !! The newest bypasses we have are keyless ( the customers love this because it's cheaper in the end instead of buying a spare key and getting it programmed ) and they are also self learning so we don't have to fool around trying to see what the " perfect " resistance is, saves a ton of time !! With new installers coming on board the 12 volt train I HIGHLY suggest an apprenticeship program with a shop or go to one of those schools that offer courses in 12 volt electronics and installations. This will save you time and agony of learning it yourself the hard way ( I think I can speak for alot of veteran installers here about trial and error posted_image )

Think of it this way....... you will end up saving more money in the end if you go to school for this type of job and get it right the first time rather than not going to school and damaging a BCM or CPU out of a newer vehicle and having to pay for it !!

At any rate if any of the members needs bypass modules or need to know if a certain vehicle needs one, please don't hesitate to call or email myself  ( Jeff ) and I will help you out the best I can
