I have installed an AstroStart remote starter in my 2004 Expedition. Everything works well but I would like to activate the rear window with the remote.  According to the information I have found, the wire is a positive trigger which is white and purple and located in the passenger kick.  I have found 2 white-purple wires in that location.  Neither shows 12 volts when the factory remote is activated.  Can anyone direct me to the correct location for this wire so I can complete my installation?

try the WHITE/ pink in harness at front passenger door sill as it lead to the fusebox, i think it is 14-16 gauge.

Pull up the drivers side REAR door sill panel. Look towards the rear of sill and you will see a small harness coming from the rear that curves and goes under the seats. You only see about 6 inches or so of this harness. Open up that harness and your lift gate wire is as follows:

WHITE/ Pink: (+) (Thicker Wire) OR
WHITE/ Violet: (-) (Thinner Wire)

Either one will work I prefer the WHITE/ pink only because the WHITE/ violet never seems to test the way I would expect on my meter. (although it does work..) Also note there are two WHITE/ violet wires so test accordingly. Hope it helps,

Mike

Thanks for the information! Are the WHITE/ pink wires mentioned postive triggers?  If they are, I assume that I need to configure a relay to convert the negative output from the AstroStart to a positive (12v) output, correct?

Yes the WHITE/ pink is a positive trigger, and the WHITE/ violet is a negative trigger. To use the positive trigger, grab a relay and wire it as so:

85: To (-) output from Astrostart
86: To 12volts fused
30: To 12volts fused
87a: Not Used
87: To WHITE/ pink

You can tie 86 and 30 together and just put a 15 - 20 amp fuse inline to be safe. Hope it helps,

Mike
