I have a 1996 mustang with standard (non-Mach) AM/FM/CD. I am getting ready to install a Clarion CD unit and noticed that the Scosche harnes kit I bought had two plugs - one for power/electrical connections and one for the speakers. But I only had one plug in the car that attached to the factory radio. Upon further inspection I did see what I think is a Mach amp (it was under the factory CD). Is this normal? It doesn't have the trunk amps, so why would it have this one?

At any rate, I noticed off to the side a couple of connectors that match both of the ones in my kit. I assume I can connect to these and have everything work (and the amp will be bypassed if it is functioning), but if someone knows different by all means let me know.

Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Yes you can just use the plugs from the side. they will match up to your wiring with no problem.
