In need of a wiring chart on a 2003 dodge ram 1500. Will be installing one of two alarms, either a viper not sure what model or an auto command model #29646 keyless entry & starter kill alarm. Is the autocommand any good? Does it have everything needed to install into this truck? I have no info on it. If the viper is chosen most likely it will be the 550esp(remote start) Anything to look out for? Immobillizer, factory alarm. Never installed the immobillizer, is it hard to install? Thanks, ------------- Sound Pressure

I believe the wiring has not changed since the 2002 model year for the Dodge trucks. Autocommand is made by DesignTech Corp. The model number you have is not one that i can find anything for either. Is there any other model or serial numbers you have on this unit ? ------------- Jeff

I'm not sure what model number it is or if it has features as the viper with factory re, and dis arm feature etc. 2-5 button remotes with 600 ft. range,5-zone security: shock sensor, ignition, doors, valet, optional add-on, adjustable dual-stage ceramic crystal shock sensor, anti-scan technology, multi tone 111db siren, starter kill, active/passive arming, remote keyless entry and trunk open, driver side priority, remote panic, anti-car jacking, car finder, one remote can control up to 4 vehicles with first defense. Ever heard of the fusion 4500 series alarm with built in trasponder immobiliser? Any good? I'll check on the first page in the database for the 2002. ------------- Sound Pressure

No records for the 2002 models in the vehicle wiring information. Would you have this?

NOTE: Chrysler vehicles that use a gray ignition key have an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed when remote starting. Use DEI part number 555C or 555U. *1 Lock requires a negative trigger thru a 820 ohm resistor. Unlock requires a negative trigger thru a 330 ohm resistor. MUST use relays. *2 Parking lights require a negative trigger thru a 330 or 1.4K ohm resistor. Headlights require a negative trigger thru a 1.8K ohm resistor. There is a rest resistance on the wire, so MUST use a relay to isolate away from the switch. *3 The LF door trigger is tan, and the LR door is tan/orange. These wires are in the driver kick panel. The RF door trigger is tan/red, and the RR door is tan / YELLOW. These wires are in the passenger kick panel. Use all wires and diode isolate each. See directfax document #1076 for wiring information. *4 This will also do door locks. Arm/lock is negative trigger thru a 2K ohm resistor. Disarm/unlock is negative trigger thru a 480 ohm resistor. Single pulse will do disarm without unlocking the doors. Unlock requires a double pulse. MUST use relays. *5 The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is on the passenger side firewall. *6 The amplifier is located behind the glove box. *7 These wires may not be necessary for remote start. ------------- Jeff

The Fusion idea of built in transponder Immobilizer doesn't seems very feasible to me. The reason being is that there are too many different brands of immobilizers from different car manufacturer's. They would have to have about a half dozen different Fusions systems to accommodate the different systems. Do they have more than one model of this alarm or just that one ? ------------- Jeff

Thanks for the wiring info Jeff! Would the single wire dodge caravan hookup that is posted in the car security information work for this truck using the resistors needed above? The parking lights can I just run that resistor inline with the switchable lead neg/pos parking light wire form the alarm? *3 The LF door trigger is tan, and the LR door is tan/orange. These wires are in the driver kick panel. The RF door trigger is tan/red, and the RR door is tan / YELLOW. These wires are in the passenger kick panel. Use all wires and diode isolate each. See directfax document #1076 for wiring information. *4 This will also do door locks. These wires that are for the trigger work as the door locks as well or am I reading that wrong? DiArm/lock is negative trigger thru a 2K ohm resistor. Disarm/unlock is negative trigger thru a 480 ohm resistor. Single pulse will do disarm without unlocking the doors. Unlock requires a double pulse. MUST use relays. ^I would not have to do the above if I am dis-arming the alarm with the viper ro the other alarm right? Kinda lost sorry. I have not had the chance to tackle this type truck with an alarm. Good thing that it is only keyless entry with the alarm. No remote start yet, but possible. As far as the fusion that was the only model that I've seen with that built into it. It is true what you said about the different immobilisers out there. ------------- Sound Pressure

- Yes the diagram is the same.... but change the resitor values.
- The *4 is for the alarm disarm... not part of the * 3 portion of the details
- The disarming of the OEM alarm system is only necessary if you are adding a remote starter to the vehicle. Otherwise this connection is not necessary.
- NOTE* Both the Accessory wires have to be connected so you do not receive an error on your dash. GREEN and ORANGE wires must be powered ( use relay in the same fashion as the 2 ignition )

I would like to know which if the accessory or the 2nd accesory controls the heating and ac. How would I go about hooking that up for this truck. Thanks

Both the second ignition and second accessory need to be hooked up with relays in order for everything to operate properly. Hook up the relay like this: - 86 : Second Accessory or Second Ignition wire from RS unit
- 85 : Primary Ignition or Primary Accessory wire from truck
- 87 : Fused 12 volt constant
- 30 : To second ignition or second accessory wire on vehicle.
- 87a: NOT USED
The above can be used for either application but each application needs it's own relay . DO NOT TRY TO USE BOTH APPLICATIONS WITH ONE RELAY ------------- Jeff

I am installing a remote start on a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup. The remote-start alarm harness for the remote start is: Orange -----(+) Acc Pink -----(+) Ign Purple -----(+) Stater Red ----- (+) 12v Blue/Blk ----(-) Ignition 2 Yellow/ White -----(-) Acc2 One illustration suggested doing this: +12 to 87 wire from RS to 85 +12 to 86 Vehicles Secondary Primary to 30 It will not run. It will crank over but. Any information would be appreicated. Also any information on hooking up the accessory (heat/ac). I know that I must be forgetting one wire or have something backwards. Thanks
