Hey guys, first off, everyone that contributes to this site rocks, because of you guys anyone with half a brain and the ability to listen can install anything! Now my question :)

I'm going to install a remote start/alarm combo soon on my 2000 silverado 1/2 ton, and I was told awhile back by someone at a garage that theres a wire on the 4L60E transmission (the one in my truck) that needs to recieve voltage for what ever reason... he said if it doesn't, the transmission will be damaged over time and eventually fail..

I'd never heard of this before, apparently its chevy only issue... Have you guys heard of this? or is this garage trying to scare me into bringing it to them?

Also, anyone know of anything extra I may have to do with this install besides the basics? Any ideas/suggestions will be greatly appreciated, once again, you all are awesome! :D

Oh sorry, I failed to mention the "Tranny Wire" issue is in relation to a remote starter apparently, not the alarm.
