Does anybody know what is the correct way to monitor the Wait to Start / Glow Plug circuits on the new 6.0 litre Powerstroke diesels for use in a Remote Start system? The remote start is configurable for either pos. or neg. input.

It doesn't seem as though the "Wait To Start" indicator circuit is useable any longer, and this motor now has a "Glowplug Control Module" with lots of wires attached to it.

use a pulse timer realy. I know DEI makes a good one.

If you are lucky your remote start can be programmed to wait for a given period of time before attempting to crank-over, mobile 1 is correct about using the DEI piece. Unfortunately for you the glow plug signal is multiplexed ( you can see it with a dual led test light) and doesn't give a true positive or negative signal. If you are fortunate and you are installing an omega or similar product you can get away with the built in 20 second delay. Keep in mind that in very cold climates (-20c and colder this may not be enough). Best of Luck

Thank you for your quick and valuable responses.

After I posted my question, I continued to research it myself, and had pretty much come to the conclusion that I would have to use the time delay option on my remote start system.

P.S. I'm installing a Crimestopper Coolstart RS-999 FMTW1
