Hi

This is my first post and will be my first time at trying to install a car alarm. The link to the manul is

https://www.crimestopper.com/techweb/InstructionBooks/ComboSystem/CS2011-2016%20REV%20B%20install.pdf

I was just wondering if anyone had any tip's for installing this on a 1990 Honda Accord LX.  Am I going to need any relays for remote start, keyless entry etc. on my make or year. I know alot on the stuff on the manual said it was optional said it would need relay's. But my question is do you think I will need any relays for the ignition, remote start, keyless entry etc. Also I have a question I see it has a optional passenger door unlock. My Honda with one switch can unlock all door's. So can I just wire the keyless entry to the main  unlock/lock switch and have all doors unlock at once? I have looked over the wiring diagrams hopefully I can get this together. I have installed many amps/subs in my life but I just won't to be sure I have everything I'm going to need for the most important features of my alarm. Any help or suggestion's would be greatly appreciated.

The Accord is easy to install into and there isn't anything that you need a relay for. The system that you have has the driver's priority door unlock, but you can wire it without this option by using the UNLOCK wire instead of the driver's door unlock wire. The only thing that I have troubles with on these vehicles is the place to put the CPU of the system because the room is limited up under the dash of these Accords.

Thanks for all the help.

So far I have gotten the remote starter installed. Today I will be trying to do the keyless entry lock and unlock on the door. According to my manual I need to know if my car has Negative trigger Door locking or Positive trigger door locking. So i'm kinda lost at which diagram to use on my year. Also where would this UNLOCK wire be alarm if in the car where and color? I got kinda confused there. Also will this be able to also lock and unlock all door's at once?

Thanks Again

The Honda uses a (-) type system and the wires are :

Door LockBLACK/ White (-) Under carpet below Fuse 2 Pin Connector
Door UnlockBLACK/ Red (-)

This will lock and unlock all doors when attached to the alarm wires. No relays required for this type of system.

Got everything installed and working great. Tomorrow I'm going to try and mount it under the dash, and hook up my P light's. Seem's like a nice alarm didn't get to do much with it yet. I didn't want to wake the block up.

Thanks Again for the help

The parking light wire you will be able to get at the fuse box. Look for the male spade connectors that are line dup in a row near the center of the FB and probe the connector while turning on and off the lights until the DMM register's voltage .

Glad you told me that cause I was going to wire them to the front lights. It saved me alot of time buy doing it this way. Just wandering if you can add some motion sensors to the model car alarm? If so what brand would work with it?

Thanks Again

The motion sensors are quite universal and I would stick with a single perimeter version because there would be less chances of having false alarms. I really don't have any to recommend as they all do the same thing and most are reliable. Go to your local alarm shop and see what they have available.

hey this is my first post but i was wondering if you (jg) are satisfied with the crimestopper CS-2016FM because i was looking into buying one. also i dont feel like paying $200 to get it installed, so i was wondering if its a tough install and if it would work on a 93 acura legend sedan. the only experience i have in car installation is ive installed 2 head units, 4 speakers, an amp, sub, and a home made box. the most complicated wiring work ive done really is bypassing my stock amp, so i was wondering if installing a remote start/keyless entry/trunk release/alarm was much harder than that. also any information on any other good buys on remote start systems for under $200 would be awesome.

thanks.

First off I'm sure it could work on any make or model car. But some models/makes may need extra relay's Maybe Velocity could help you out on that one.

I was also very worried as I have never done this type of installation myself. I have installed amp's/ subs/ cd player wiring etc. Just as you have but seeing that diagram of the installation was frightening until I actually set down and read it. I mainly did my install in sections remote start first, checked to see if it worked then did the keyless entry etc. In all I probably did this all in 3 day's, but I only worked on it for about a hour or two at a time.

The only thing that I was really afraid of was messing with the ignition wire's. Which turned out to be very easy using using those crimps where you put a wire in one side and the other wire in the other side and crimp them down on it. Those saved me alot of trouble, but I did cut some before finding out I had some of those type crimps :(. I kinda wish I had of new of them all along. I am not really sure of the name of those crimp. But it has a side for the ignition wire to slide into then you just run the wire from the alarm to the other side and the press down no cutting will be involved then. Except for maybe one wire on the ignition. The rest was pretty easy the only trouble I had is metioned above trying to find a place to mount the control unit in my accord was a pain due to the limited room under the dashboard.

In all I am very sastified with my 2016FM. It's has a lifetime transferable warrenty.  So you can pick one up new off ebay for around $150.00 shipped and save that's what I did. It has alot of programmable options, but so far mine has been fine at defualt. I did alot of comparison's with this model and the Viper System's, and found that the most important features were on both alarm's, and the Crimestopper was very much cheaper, and if you installed the Viper Yourself It would void your warrenty, so that was one drawback for me.. But you can compare the features to other  alarm's and pick one that's right for you.

Mine was straight forward and needed nothing extra for all the main feature's. Also go to your local library and grab a Chilton for your make/model car this will also help out alot.  Not to mention grab your wiring diagram from this site it will definately help you find the wires your going to be working with.

thanks a lot for answering me so fast. i was thinking about cancelling the project, but now i think i can handle it. if you could give me any more information on the crimestopper such as how good the actual alarm system is and anything annoying or cool about it i would like to know because im still debating on exactly what kind of starter to get since theres so many different types with the same features advertised. i narrowed it down to the crimestopper and this one... if you could look at this clarion one and tell me whether you think itd be a better buy or not that would be great.
clarion ungo sr5000

thanks again

Well the best thing to do would be to go to get a sheet of paper and write down the feature's, and compare the two by checking off what each has and each one doesn't.

Well I like the remote start and keyless entry. I also like the idea you can have it silent alarm with parking light or or I can have it chirp with the flashing parking lots. Also it has a remote panic button which is kinda fun to warn your neighbors that you have a alarm (lol so they don't get any ideas.)  Also the main reason I got one was the pageing device that's let's you know if your car is being tampered with. Aslo I like the idea if I forgot to lock my door's I just press  one side button on the lcd and it will show me if the last thing I did, also shows vibrates of alerts and confirms the car is running when you use the remote start. It' also has a two stage alarm system like if someone bump's it, it will siren for a few seconds to warn them away. If they hit it again the alarm goes off then. But alot of it's programable It's got alot of feature's some I have not even programmed in etc. The remote start can be set to timed start also which I don't use. Also a great thing is the anti-grind feature using remote start. But there's alot more features you just have to program what's right for your car.

Here's the link between the two so you can compare  the features of the two

https://www.clarion.com/usa/products/Ungo_ProSecurity/SR5000_.html

and the crimestopper

https://www.crimestopper.com/index3.html

and go the the informer II and that is the 2016FM
