I am looking for VW wiring diagrams and any other info applicable to doing an audio install on a 2002 VW Golf GLS w/ the Monsoon 8 speaker system. Some info pertaining to the type of info I may need... I'm a beginner, have done some basic installation on a 94 honda DX, but am also studying Electrical Engineering, so I am confident over time I may be able to conquer my seemingly possesed new car. I first want to replace the head unit (new one currently harnessed for my honda) and am working through several ideas to direct connect my i pod either w/ an aux in or to an amp which I am debating whether to buy and install.

Also, anyone know about the i pod dock connector- is there a cable, or can I modify to an aux out?

There are quite a few units out that have Auxillary Inputs, either on the front or in rear.  IPOD also has a FM Transmitter.
As far as wiring for sound, use a Plug Adapter to eliminate cutting your Factory Radio wires.

Yes, I have the DLO transmitter, which works fairly well. However, I was interested in a direct connection from the i pod dock to the system and I don't want to stick my ipod in the trunk where the cd changer stuff is. I know several mfg.s make interfaces for the ipod which only run about 100... But I don't really want to control the ipod via the receiver. I like the ipods interface.
