I need help locating the factory arm and disarm wires to install a viper 791 xv, I have everything else hooked up and also the hood wire. ThankZ in AdVancE!
no arm or disarm or hood pin wires in that vehicle. the 791 has security with it so don't worry about no alarm. for your hood pin you have to make your own. use the pin switch that comes in the packaging
Ok the factory alarm/keyless entry there should be some wire the the 791 should be hooked to... ok, f I open the driver's side door and close it then arm with the 791, it makes another alert saying that the door is open I guess because the courtesy light remain on for awhile. When I close the door then use the factory remote to arm then use the viper 791 xv remote to arm, then it doesn't give the alert. Thats why I believe there is a arm and disarm wire for the factory keyless entry.
And for the hood wire, when the hood is open the light under the hood comes on that is the wire that I want to attach to the 791 gray wire.
Thanks for your reply!
Does your truck have factory keyless, or the number pad on the drivers door?
If it does, at the keyless module, you will find a yellow and a red wire. These are the wires connected to buttons 7 and 9 on the keypad. diode isolate BOTH and NEG(-) trigger will lock and arm factory security.
Disarm is a green and purple wire at the keyless module NEG(-) trigger.
As for the hood pin, I believe its a mercury switch, bad connection. Use a GOOD hood pin, its easy enough to do.

the only reason you are getting the warning chirp is because you don't have your door trigger wires hooked up. you probably hooked up the door trigger to the dome light wire. you need to find these wires.....
In the drivers door harness find yellow/black for the drivers door. In the drivers kick panel find lt. GREEN/ YELLOW for the drivers rear door. In the passengers kick panel find gray/red for the passenger front door, and pink/lt. blue for the passengers rear door. All four wires are negative trigger and must be diode isolated together |
Thank you very much for your helpful responces, one more thing, are there any other programs out there that gives wire info of most vehicles? I know of astrochart by astro flex.
