ok my friend has a 2002 jeep liberty, i offered to install his stereo in his car because i know how to do it and love working on cars. well i usually just use this site for wiring info but there isnt one for the liberty. i saw that the others jeeps should be the same so i printed it off and began my work. thats when i realized after i cut the harness the colors were wrong. stupid me forgot to check it. but that wouldnt be a bad thing i figured we would pick up a pioneer harness that converts right to the jeep harness. but still more problems there is 2 black wires and 2 pink ones.i need help figuring out which one goes to which. its been a day know spent on trying to figure that damn thing out. im just worried connecting the wrong wires would cause anything bad to happen. also im almost positive all the + and - power goes through the stereo because the dome lights, gauges, and anything else doesnt light up. also the door locks and windows only work with the keys in it.... any help would be greatly appriciated. thanks

you could have saved yourself alot of trouble and just bought a metra harness instead of cutting off the factory plug. you should never cut the plug! dash lights dont work cause you probably grounded the dimmer wire.

yeah i know but the closest place that sells those is 45 min away so goin through the trouble of driving there is almost not worth it and with gas prices ehh def iffy. but i think i have learned my leason now..... but "dash lights dont work cause you probably grounded the dimmer wire..." usually grounding something kills it... is there anyway to fix it??

Check all your fuses! Most likely one or two are shorted out. NOT that big of an issue. Get yourself a a inexpensive Digital Multimeter and you will get through to sorted out all this mess in no time.
Did you check it again this chart? Does any of this match to what you have in your vehcile.?------------- Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

i checked the fuses today. 2 were blown so i replaced them but as soon as i connected them they were blown again. weird but the stock stereo works fine and the new one doesnt.... like there is to much power. ill try the diagram but i need to buy more fuses first.. sigh ...

did the fuses blow with the new radio in or just when you plug in the new one because if thats the case something is wired wrong
