I am looking for information about the location of the VSS wire(s) for a 2005 Acura TSX without the navigation system.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the TSX transmission does not have a VSS at all.  posted_image  Vehicle speed is calculated by the ecu from the input on the mainshaft sensor in the transmission, like the K series Accord and brand new RSX.

A member of a different forum sent me a picture of the connector where the VSS signal terminates on a non-navi car. I think it's in the ECU connector, at pin 26. I don't know how to upload a picture here so if you send me your email address (Or tell me how to upload the pic), I'll be happy to share it with you.

Thanks.

According to the Honda diagram, E26 is only in the harness on navigation-equipped cars.  It is a VSS output from the main computer.  I haven't tried, but it is possible that the ecu in a non-navi car will still send the pulse to this pin.

Here's a link to a PDF for a 2005 Accord ecu at this pin, which has the same pinout.  https://www.billshonda.com/reference/2005_Accord_AC0305023003A.pdf

Maybe that helps a bit.  ?

That's a much better diagram than what's in the Acura service manual!

Aha! I discovered the pinout diagram on page 11-25 (the Fuel and Emissions section -- silly me was looking at Electrical!). And it says that pin 26 of connector E is VSS OUT (with no notes about nav or non-nav! :-)

Thanks.

Hope that helped out a little.  Best luck!
