I'm hooking a few things up to my friend's S10, and we need a wiring diagram that shows what wire colors are what wire... I'm trying to keep the stock H/U so i just want to tap into the speaker wires and some other switched power to power a fuzzbuster and a bazooka tube.

I've got a line converter to hook to the speaker wires to give me RCA outputs for the bazooka tube

a full stereo wiring diagram would be nice... thanks

there was a chart for that (most of the wires at least)

I was referring to a full wiring schematic... like something that would be in a service manual; no big deal though, we got his old deck transplanted, bazooka tube hooked up as well as the fuzzbuster. strangely enough, there was no power antenna wire, so we just tapped into the ignition wire to be the turn-on for the bazooka and power for the fuzzbuster so it turns on with the car.

personally, having one of my own, i dont think theres any comparison between the factory system and a full on system makeover in a 2000 S10.. sure it costs little more, but after replacing every component in my setup, the acoustics in the truck are great. I have a premier deck with 6.5v preouts, and with everything aftermarket, it sounds totally better. delco made a pretty good deck, but you're better off with the aftermarket for amplified speakers. the main reason i say this is because i had the premier running the stock speakers because i did the system a piece at a time, and hearing the aftermarket deck controlling the stock speakers i was astounded by the difference.

That truck has a lot of sound potential, hell i have an upgraded 4 speaker mid and tweeter setup and a JL behind the seat, and with such a small cab, people think i have 2 12s in it because of the punch it has. I would definately reccomend an actual Deck->amp->sub combo, cause it sounds a lot better.

also if you need any help on anything PM me.

well, it's not even my truck, it's a good friend of mine's...

as it stands now, he's running an older JVC deck, stock speakers, and an 8" kenwood bazooka tube that he got for free from one of his relatives.

the main objective was to get the best sound for as little money as possible. now seeing as how the only money he really spent was for some power cabling from the store i work at (I got the harness, h/u mounting adapter, and the rest of the wiring except the RCA's which he already had from my work for free) so all said and done, he had like ten bucks into it. btw: he also got the fuzzbuster from one of our mutual friends for nothing.

I have to say, i'm a little disappointed comparing the amount of money difference between my friend's and my systems, and then comparing the sound of the two and realize i put too much money into mine.
