I have a 2000 dodge dakota with a aolin alarm on it when i bought it. I have the same problem as others with the dome light staying on for 30 sec. also the remote start will not start it just beeps 3 times. i brought it to an install shop and they could not figure it out. any thing special on a 2000, at, power everything. i was told something about a GREEN/ red wire. what is it and how to hook it up or tell the shop. thanks for any advice on this matte would help.
Does your Alarm trigger after arming?
You might check your Brake wire connection, Hood Pin, Neutral Safety, etc. for your Remote Start issue. If the RS senses a ground from Hood Pin or Brake Light wire is not supplying ground then it would not work.
As far as GREEN/ Red wire:
Ignition #3 | GREEN/ RED (18 GA) | IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS ** |
** Not Powering Up Results In Check Engine Light
BLACK/ WHITE Wire Must Be Powered During Remote Start To Keep The Check Engine Light Off.

any body have any experience on wiring up an alarm/remote start combo system on a 2000 Dodge dakota with power everything and automatic tranny. I had one installed and they could not figure out why the remote start would not engage. I have been told of a GREEN/ red of like a 16 or 18 gauge wire only on the 2000 models any info would be greatly appreciated.
oh yeah also any body got the wiring diagram of the factory alarm on one of these trucks i need to get tha pesky dome light delay off.
When you say that it would not start, does that mean that it doesn't crank over or it does crank over, but doesn't stay running ? If you have OEM alarm as well, then you need to add relays to bypass the system. These trucks are very easy to do, I did one today and all wires are located in the ignition harness for the remote start wires ( no Immobilizer system ) and the keyless is a little different where you have to use (+) for the lock and 5 wire the unlock. Aside from this, there's nothing special about the truck.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

okay my truck is a 2000 dodge dakota with auto trans and power everything. its got this remote start/alarm combo on it. some brand i have never heard of (Aolin?). anyways the remote start dont work it powers up the accessories and all just no cranking of the engine. I was told of a GREEN/ red wire in the harness that is about 16 to 18 gauge that is only on this year dodge. well the only green red wire i see is not hooked up to anything. could that be the problem and if so anyone know how it is to be hooked up? just so i coulod tell an install shop. any help would be greatfully appreciated. thanks guys.
Any chance you might got an immobolizer in the vehicle?

Make sure that the starter wire off the remote start is attached to the motor side of the starter disable relay otherwise you will get a no crank problem like you have now.
