i shorted something out in my cigarette lighter, and it no longer works...its a 1987 gmc s-15, i searched all the fuses on the block underneath the drivers side...they are all fine, yet there isnt one labelled with anything remotely close to the cigarette lighter...help would be appreciated...thanks.

Check your dome lamp fuse, possibly labeled "courtesy" . There are only two wires going to the lighter, not counting the lamp leads if you have a light on it (though usually separate). In your vehilce the positve lead is most likely orange. The case of it goes to ground and that wire should be black.
