On a 1997 cavalier 2.2L = I have checked for the color and location of this wire but still need help.  It is supposed to be GREEN / WHITE wire.  I beleive I found this wire in the large plug by the driver side shock tower.  However, I have also read on this forum (old post) that  you can find it in the bottom side of the large plug next to the driver's side shock tower in the engine compartment. You will need to remove the air filter box to get to it. The GREEN / WHITE wire is only in the bottom side of the plug. The wire dead ends there and doesn't come through the top side of the plug. It is very close to the corner of the plug that is easiest to get to.

The GREEN / WHITE wire I found in the plug goes all the way through to the top plug but I do have a solid green wire that sounds exactly like this other post described.

Any advice would be appreciated.

that wire is dk rn/wht and you can find it in the radio harness, the multi function alarm module, ipc, cruise control module or at the powertrain control module. it seems to me it would be the easiest to get it at one of the first three i listed. looks like pin 16 at radio. just double check your wires and it will be drk grn/wht

thank you fingaz22 I got it working but was assured I had the correct wire after your advice.  I simply had too much slack in the throttle cable (so much for following the directions!!)  Thanks again!
