The cooling fan on my 1999 Mk4 VW Polo isn't working. I had the fan checked by an auto electrician and he said it was OK. It has three wires going to it, a 12 Volt wire, an earth wire and I can't see where the third one goes. would anyone have a circuit diagram that covers it or know of a link where I might find one?

The 3rd wire should go to the thermostat, or sending unit. It monitors engine temp and triggers the fan.
