I am planning on doing the following, and need to know which wires to use:
I am going to add a "secret button" with a relay so that I need to turn the key on, press the button, then turn the key the rest of the way to start the truck. I have had this on a previous GM truck of mine and it worked great as a theft deterant. I know the yellow wire is the starter, which is what I want to splice and add a relay to. I need a wire that is hot when the key is on, but does not die when the key is turned to run the starter. I hope this isn't confusing to you all.
I've tried splicing into the accessory plug, but it goes off when the key is turned to start the starter. I don't want to have power to it when the key is off either, so the cigarette lighter is out too.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Ignition pink/white + ignition harness
This would be the wire you'd want. Ignition wire is hot when the key is in run and crank positions, of course double check this before you hook it up.

Thanks! I'll test it first to see.

Pink/white or pink / YELLOW?

my notes say pink/white is your ignition and the pink / YELLOW is your accessory, which will drop out during crank. But if it tests as constant during crank, you can use that.
