have been trying to find web site to print out wiring diagram for 1994 Ford Explorer stereo. orginial stero stolen and wires cut right at harness.

see my post titled: 94 explorer w/jbl ssys. The answer to your questions are there. I had the same problem some gutless turd cut my wiring harness as well.
