Does anyone know If I have to hook up the pink and pink/black wires for passlock II on a DEI 457gw. The vehicle is a 04 Yukon. Also which wires do I hook them to? When I remote start the vehicle it starts and then dies. When I insert the key and then remote start the vehicle it works. The doorlocks and everything else work through the databus On the DEI 457GW however the resistance code doesn't seem to be working. Any help would be appreciated.

hi,

No, you don't need to hook up those wires for operation of the 457gw in the Yukon.  Try reconnecting the 457 again, poor ground?, reread the directions?  If not working you may have a defective piece.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I tried all of the above and have also swapped out the unit for a new one, same problem. I don't understand why the lock/unlock, arm/disarm and everything else works fine through the violet databus wire but the resistance passlock doesn't. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

if i remember correctly, the blue/white of the 457 is the status/ground-when-running input.  test to make sure a ground appears on this wire when you remote start.  if it doesn't, that would make the vehicle not start.

Sure do appreciate the quick responses. Sounds like we're both on the same page. I tried that also. I also tried just grounding out the status input wire. maybe I'll have to go back to using GMbypasskits brand which I've had better luck with. This is the first time I've tried the DEI 457gw not impressed so far. Any other suggestions however I would be willing to try.

Thanks for all the responses. I figured it out. Everything was hooked up fine. I forgot to go into the menu on the alarm and switch between tach and tachless mode which caused it to start and then die. As soon as I switched this feature in the alarm it worked. My fault for over looking this progamming feature.
