I have a 2004 Ford F150 with the Audiophile sound system. Recently, the auto volume control has stopped working.  I had it set to 4 or 5 and it would lower the volume automatically when i slowed down. That is not happening now. What type of sensor does it use?? Is there a sensor located away from the head unit??? Or is the sensor built in to the head unit??? I appreciate your help.

It uses the vehicles VSS wire to do this. It is the gray/black wire on the 24 pin plug on the back of your stereo. Yes, it is done in the head unit....
