Hello,

I am installing many handsfree kits in newer Chevy and GMC trucks.  I have noticed that the radio stays on until the door is opened.  I was wondering if anyone knew which fuse (if any) controls this function so I could tap into it for the ignition lead on the handsfree kits.  I looked at a wiring list for a 2005 Chevy truck on this site and it says the ignition connection on the radio is Class 2 Serial.  What does that mean?

Also, does anyone know about a mute lead on the radio?

Thanks,

MasterMarine

the radio is controlled by a databus wire, there is no power wire that will remain on until a door is opened. The only way to acheive this on the newer GM products is with a databus interface, or you can build a RAP relay setup like the ones in the relays section on this page.
