350 c is the g.m. trans that has a lock up converter . it was their early attempt to try to get better gasd milage, by eliminating slippage between engine and trans. with out this solonoin energizing, it operates just like a normal turbo 350.

Sounds like an 82 I had to repair..kept blowing lock-up fuses...had to remove the torque convertor and solenoid and replace them..Convertor dragged so much when trying to lock it shorted solenoid out.

auto tech,

thanks for the feedback. i found that the solonoid was definately shorted, but only when power was applied. i think there may be a baD DIODE IN COIL. I HOPE IT ISN'T IN THE CONVERTER  !! the converter is just hydraulic activated by the solonoid allowing preassure to the clutch plates i think.  i'm hoping that replacing the solonoid solves the problem, but if it doesn't, i'll definately look into your thoughts.

thanks, hotreodguy
