I'm trying to fit an alarm to my Vauxhall / Opel Vectra 2.5 V6 (Arttic 2) I think the make of the alarm is a Giordon. It has a wire which is says has to be twissted 5 times arond the main ht lead from the coil. But there is where my problem is - I'm told the 2.5 V6 Vectra has an ignition system where the coil is built into the distributor, hense no main ht lead. Is there anywhere else this lead can be connected to serve the same purpose ? Regards, Gareth

Does the alarm ahve a low input eg: tacho? ------------- WOW Sight and Sound

yes you can connect this wire to one of the wires on the coil, or in the vectra if im correct the wire for the rev counter is light green you should be able to hook into this wire.

I have connected my alarm wire to the green tacho wire but now my problem is i have no idea how to connect allthe wire to the central locking system. first thing i need to figure out is weather my vectra's central locking sytem is neggative or possitive triggering

most vauxhalls are neg locking, the two wires you have to hook into are BROWN / red-------BROWN / white, cant rem what wire is what just apply a neg to the wires and see what lock and unlock is, let me know if u need anymore wire info.

Thanks - i will have a go at it soon, i'll let you know how i get on. I'm sure i will need more help b4 its finished. The bottom end went on my veccy engine recently and so I've had to spend out about £800 on replacing it. Have you any suggestions what i can do with the old engine, is it worth anything ? would and engine refurb company pay anything for it.
