I have been told that I do and don't have passlock II, how can I tell?  The truck is a base (stripped)model extended cab.  I do not need a special key as a .99 wally world cut key will start the truck.  Thanks guys

All GM trucks built after 1998 have Passlock II in them with the exception of certain rare vehicles with a police package. The key only needs to be cut to fit the ignition cylinder. The Passlock II circuits are inside the ignition cylinder and not the key. Yes, you need a bypass to add remote start to your truck.

are you planning on doing a remote start?or alarm if so you will need to use a 457gw put out by DEI wich hooks up through the purple wire at the obd2 plug.

Yes remote start.  I now have DLRM for GM and a database bypass module.  I noticed the passlock module also has lock inputs/outputs along with the connection to the data wire.  So I connect both modules to the lock system?

Thanks again for the help

I guess I should say, that without any factory keyless or alarm functions, so I need to use these with the passlock bypass.  I have the bypasskit GMDL-BP. and an unk brand lock kit that I think originaly came from alarmtek.

I have a 06 GMC Sierra king cab, 4DR, but clamshell not full size.  The BCM has 3 plugs (and one 3 pin) in it and not six.  The light blue plug as a grey/white wire at B6, but not black and white at all.  I also have a 04 which has the door triggers at B4 and A5 as indicated in the print out.  Can anyone assist with this or is there a seperate wiring diagram for my model.

And I haven't even gotten to adapting the GMDL-BP to a Viper 850 yet.  Not much hair left either.

Thanks

What  are you looking for?  There are 6 plugs, the three main plugs,  the 3 pin with an orange, green, grey/black (grey/black is your dome light wire, green is reverse if you need that for anything) Then there is a white plug on the opposite side all the way to the right, that has about 6 wires in it.  Then if you look underneath by the brake switch there is a purple plug with about 12-16 wires (not all models have that many wires, some may just have the rear door wires) in it and there you will find the rear door triggers, light blue/black and light GREEN/ black.  If you are looking for the front doors, you actually have to go into the front doors to grab them.  They are found at the window switch module, grey/black at the drivers door, BLACK/ white in passenger door.  If you are using the GMDL-BP you don't have to grab each door wire, that module will do it for you.  You have to hook the grey/black on the module to the grey/black dome light wire in the 3 pin plug all the way to the left of the BCM (the one I spoke of ealier) then the green wire out to the alarm's negative door trigger input.  This is a pretty easy install (don't mean to rub it in, I've done hundreds of this model vehicles from GM) so if you have any other questions feel free to post or PM

If your truck has no power locks then only use the brown, purple, red and black wires for the GMDL BP. Hook the doorlock outputs from the remote starter to the door lock inputs for your power lock system. The door lock inputs on the GMDL BP are designed to trigger the factory locks/alarm which you don't have.

I have factory power locks, just not the keyless entry or alarm.

You can try the inputs to the GMDL BP then to see if they work. If not you will probably have use the white and light blue wires in the light blue plug of the BCM for unlock and lock. They need a negative pulse.

Thanks, I will try the module first and see if it works.  I don't have the other wires in the slots for the base wires.  For the module going to the Viper 850, does the brown wire go to the blue Aux output, or does it just need ground.  On another note, I notice I have several yellow wires in the ignition harness, how do I determine which one I need for the Viper module.  I wanted to get the alarm working before I went to the remote start.

Thanks for everyone's patience with me.

I am not familiar with the Viper line. The brown wire for the GMDL BP is only to activate the module for a remote start. It will disarm the trucks factgory alarm, which yours doesn't have, and bypass the Passlock II system. You need to hook it to the wire from your system that only goes to ground when the remote starter is activated. The only yellow wire you need to likely use for your alarm is the thick yellow wire for the starter. Use a digital volt meter to test if you aren't sure which one. It will show 12 volts only when you turn the key to the crank/start position. You will also need to hook the starter wire output from the remote start to the car side, not the key side, of this wire after you cut it to hook up a starter kill circuit.
