Anyone have the instructions on how to program a GM factory remote. I have a 1997 Oldsmobile 88 if that makes any difference.

Hey J, try this procedure ( note that this is for a Pontiac but I'm sure it's the same for most GM's )

1997-98 Grand Prix

1.        Sit in driver's seat.

2.        Remove ignition key from lock cylinder.

3.        Ensure all doors are closed.

4.        Remove the "MALL PGM" fuse from fuse panel.

5.        Turn ignition lock cylinder to accessory position.

6.        Turn ignition lock cylinder to off position and then back to accessory position within one second.

7.        Open and close any door. A chime will be heard when remote control door lock receiver enters programming/diagnostic mode. If chime is not heard, repeat procedure as necessary.

8.        Press and hold remote transmitter lock and unlock buttons for 14 seconds.

9.        After 7 seconds, a chime should be heard confirming successful synchronization. After 14 seconds, a chime will be heard confirming successful programming.

10.     Repeat step 8 for each additional transmitter.

11.     Remove ignition key from ignition lock cylinder.

12.     Install "MALL PGM" fuse to fuse panel.
