i'm having troubble finding the vss wire on my 2002 suburban, from the research that i have done it figures out to be a GREEN / WHITE wire, but all the locations that i look the wire that is not there for example one of my searches was at the ECM red plug pin # 10 the color was not there another one is also at  the ECM but this one said red connector pin 50 if someone can help me out please tell me color and location. i am hooking it up to pioneer avec-d1 thank you

It is on the bottom connector of the ecm. It is there I assure you, there are alot of grn/whites there though.

thank you for the information i connected it to the ECM between the battery and the fan down low on the red plug  pin # 50 in the GREEN/ whtie wire and it still didn't work i drove it to see if it will read it but didn't do anything the screen it still shows ''item not abailble now'' might guess is that the unit doesn't work or if someone with this unit (pioneer avec-d1) have it, please help me out.thanks

I have an '01 Suburban and am having the same problem.  My ECM doesnt have a red connector.  There are SOOO many GREEN / WHITE wires - yikes.

Look in your radio harness, its there

thats what gives those pre-2003 (1.5 din) radios the ability to do speed control volume.  its GREEN / WHITE behind the radio

i have a 2002 suburban which im tryin to install the avn5435 into, where have some of you hooked into the reverse wire. i also hear that the vss wire is possible in the radio harness..any info would be appreciated thanx

2001 or 2002 (2002 and earlier) Suburbans (Tahoe, Silverado, C/K PU etc) have Cruise control
The plug at the Servo (near the brake booster) has the GREEN / WHITE VSS wire
