I can't seem to find a wiring diagram for the 2005 CTS that isn't password protected. Also, I have seen that many different transponders are listed, but which one is the best and easiest. Thanks for your help

Parking Lights-BROWN / white - switch or DIM, brown plug, pin B3
Notes: The DIM (Dash Integration Module) is under the glove box.

Door Triggeruse dome supervision wire
Notes: Individual door triggers are in each door at their respective door modules. The driver door trigger is tan, the RF door is lt. green, the LR door is dk. blue/white, and the RR door is yellow/black. Use all four wires and diode isolate each wire from each other and the door modules. Refer to DirectFax document 1076 for wiring information.
Dome Supervisiongray - underdash light
Trunk/Hatch PinORANGE / black - RIM, red plug, pin B3
Notes: The RIM (Rear Integration Module) is on the passenger side rear deck.
Hood Pinpink/black (export model only) - pin sw or DIM, brown plug, pin B1
Notes: The DIM (Dash Integration Module) is under the glove box.
Trunk/Hatch Releaselt. blue - RIM, brown plug, pin B4
Notes: The RIM (Rear Integration Module) is on the passenger side rear deck.

The trunk release motor wire is tan/white (+) at the LR fuse block under the rear seat.
Power Sliding DoorN/A
Factory Alarm Armyellow (export model only) - driver door module in door
Notes: Can also use Directed interface module.
Factory Alarm Disarmlt. green - driver door module in door
Notes: Can also use Directed interface module.
Disarm No Unlockwith ignition and Passkey
Tachometerwhite ac ECM, connector 2, pin 5
Notes: The ECM (Engine Control Module) is on the passenger side of the motor under the cover.

On the CTS-V models, the tach wire is at the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) below the driver side headlight, green plug, pin 10.

The tach wire can also be found at the instrument cluster.

Can also go to any fuel injector and use the wire that is NOT white or pink/black.

I would recommend the GMDL-BP from bypasskit.com. This will do door locks via data and bypass the transponder via the same data wire connection, much more reliable than the 556U. DEI also lists their compatible model in that sheet the 457G, which is essentially the same device.
