I am trying to hood up a Defi-Link VSD concept to my 2004 mustang cobra.  I am having trouble figuring out where to pick up the tach and speed signal.  I tried to run the tach signal from pin 22 and 23 off the computer which is (-) and (+) of the crank sensor.  and have not gotten to the speed signal, but my car does not have a VSS, it has an OSS, but I saw another post on someone hooking the VSD concept to a 2006 mustang, so I am hoping that I can run it off the same location as that.  please help, I am kinda confused

TACH SIGNAL See notes
On the 3.8L engine there is a triple coil pack on the top left rear of the engine. Use the PINK/WHITE or BLUE/GREEN and set your remote start for 2 cylinder's. The 4.6L engine has separate coils for each cylinder located on the top sides of the engine. Each coil has an ignition feed ( Red or WHITE/ blue), Take the wire opposite of these and set your remote starter for 1 cylinder. You can also find each coil wire at the PCM module in the passenger kick panel, use the PINK/WHITE or WHITE/ PINK. Both provide a 1 cylinder signal.

I do not have a remote starter to set to 1 cyclinder.... and I do not believe that the HUD, heads up display, will do 1 cyclinder.  I believe it will do 2, so can I run a 2 coils with diodes in the wires that run to the HUD, to read correctly?  And what size diodes do they need to be if I can run them?  Is the signal going to be correct for the HUD unit?  Does the car send square wave or sign wave signals to the PCM?  If not then what type of signal does it send?  The HUD unit is all in japaneese and is illegible for me to understand.  They say it will work on hondas, mazda's, and pretty much most foreign cars....I figure that all signals are the same...but I do not know the answer to that... anyhelp with all my questions would be of GREAT help

I checked the HUD unit, and I only have 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 cyclinder settings for the tach signal cyclinder settings....can I do the diode thing I stated in the previous post?
