Hi,

I'm going to attempt to install a Crime stopper 2015FM2 this weekend on my 2000 Intrigue. This will be my first alarm install and I would appriciate any advice on things to do or look out for. Also how difficult would it be to interface with the OEM keyless entry system.

Thanks,

Noah Ravenscroft

Well got everything hooked up, and  then it just stopped working.  I didn't get the remote starter fully hooked up yet ( Still waiting for the Passlock bypass to arrive). Everything was working, (Door locks, headlights, trunk , illuminated entry) Then all of the sudden the door lock stopped working. The green  wire from the alarm’s 3 wire harness is connected to the cathode side of a blocking diode, and  the anode side is connected to the RED / Black wire on the cars BCM. The problem is that when a lock function is triggered nothing happens and the lock button on the door will not work, at this point the wire reads 1.3 volts. Once the 3 pin harness is unplugged from the alarm, the voltage goes back up to 11.4 and manually grounding the wire causes the door locks to lock, but once reconnected the voltage again drops to 1.3 and manually grounding the wire no longer triggers a lock. I think the unit is bad, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Why are you using diodes in the door lock wires coming from the alarm ?? All this system needs is a (-) trigger from the alarm and it will lock/unlock the doors. Remove these and your problem will be fixed. Also, you mentioned the 3 wire harness....... do you have the third wire hooke to GROUND ?? I'm assuming this is an alternating polarity system that you can ground or add power to the third wire to choose your polarity of the locking system ?

The instruction booklet showed the diodes installed. I didn't connect the red wire off the 3 wire harness to anything. I'll remove the diodes and try hooking the red to ground this evening.

Thanks,
