I have a 2001 626 LX that I will be installing a remote start on and do not believe it has an immobilizer. I have a spare key that was cut at the hardware store using a standard Curtis blank and it works fine. Was the immobilizer only installed on certain models? I was not sure the wiring diagram shown here would be correct since my 626 does not have an immobilizer.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

I use tinfoil to test for immobilizers.
Wrap two layers of foil around key head and try to start the car.
If it starts then no immobilizer.
If it only cranks or cranks and dies then there is one.
