I need wiring information for a 1989 Chevy S-10 dealing with the dash.  The problem is, the fuel gauge won't work, but all the other gauges do.  I need information on what wires go where from where and connect to what.  I know where the wire is that leads from the fuel tank to the fusebox, but after that, I don't know where anything is.  The vehicle was bought used and someone else had rigged the fuel gauge to work but I don't know what they did exactly.  My plan is to strip the rigged wiring if I can and re-wire everything back to the way it is supposed to be.  ANd that way, if the problem seems to be in the wiring or the dash, I can fix that.  I also may want to wire a new fuel gauge to the dash but I will need to know the fuel wiring in order to do so.  So if you can get the wiring information for the dash, it would be very much appreciated.

I would like to have wiring information for a 4X4 5-Speed Transmission 1989 Chevrolet S-10 Extended Cab Pickup.  Basic area of need is the dash and fuel gauge area.  The problem is that, even though all the other gauges work,. the fuel gauge does not.  When I took a look at the wiring from the tank to the fuse box, that seemed fine.  But from the fuse box, a previous owner had somehow rigged wires from the fuse box all around into the dash.  What I want to do is get rid of this "rigging" and return to the original wiring but I need to know what wires go to where and what they go to.  I would like to be able to troubleshoot this problem, but with the wiring how it is now, I cannot do so and hope to be accurate.  I want to know where the problem is, if the problem is in the fusebox, the wire running to the fuse box, the one coming from the fusebox into the plug that connects into the back of the dash, the dash itself, or something else.  That way I can spend as little money as possible to fix the problem.  Thank you in advance.
