I have an Infinity amp that I took out of my Avalanche to put in my brother's 06 Malibu. With the factory head unit to remain, I'm going to tap the audio signal to the amp in the trunk from the rear 6x9s, but I need to know where I should hook up the remote amp turn-on lead. I have researched it and to connect it behind the head unit where I did in my Avalanche I would have to disassemble the whole dash and do NOT want to do that. What can I T-tap into maybe in a kick panel or somewhere to get this amp powered on?

use a DMM (digital multi-meter)to find a switched 12v source...i would recommend from the fuse box or ignition harness.
From directed:
Accessory brown + ign harn or BCM, C4, pin C8
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is part of the fuse/relay box on the front passenger side of the center console. It has the following connectors: C1-72 pin gray plug, C2-72 pin gray plug, C3-41 pin red plug, and C4-68 pin lt. gray plug.
If this isn't something that you cant do yourself, contact a local shop that will at least test and confirm the correct wire for ya....good luck

i removed the dash and tapped the yellow power antenna wire (I assume). Tonight when I get off work I'm going to finish the install. I just need to know whether or not I tapped the correct wire for the remote turn on or not. I guess if i don't hear anything back I will know by trial and error, but i already reassembled the dash, so i hope that i'm correct. the car doesn't have an antenna on it (i believe its wired into the back glass) but i guess it'll still work the same or the wire wouldn't be there period.
