My wife has a wonderful (snicker) 2000 Grand Vitara, and the cigarette lighter pulled out of it recently. I THOUGHT it'd be as easy as popping out the stereo and screwing on the retainer ring, but I noticed that the small LED or diode that lights the 12v plugs trim ring is also no longer working - it WAS working when she originally pulled out the plug. Simultanouesly, the radio stopped working.

The owners manual points to a fusebox under the hood, citing a 60amp fuse for the cigar lights, radio, wipers, backup light, blah blah (overloaded circuit, anyone). However, all of the other items seem to be working, which makes me think that perhaps there's another fuse panel somewhere for the cigar lighter and radio...or (God forbid) and inline fuse somewhere.

Does anyone know of anything like this for this 'vehicle'? Or will I be taking it to the shop to get fixed?

Thanks in advance!!
- Mark

Mod, please delete this thread. I found out the problem, and it's that I am a moron.

I've been driving Chrysler vehicles so long that I forgot some manufacturers still put a fuse box in the driver's kick panel area.

Found it. Dead 20Amp. Problem solved.

(please, no flames...) :)
