Hello

I am restoring a 63  Ford Econo and am installing power windows and locks (with a remote for the locks)

The question is this. Can/would anyone care to inform me as to the schematic for using five switches to control two windows. I will have of course one switch at  the passenger door for it's window and then two on the driivers side, one for each window. However I do also wish to control both windows from what would be the bed room of the van.

I do believe the answer to the first question will also answer the same sort of problem regarding the door locks. Only one switch in the cookpit but an additional one again in what would be the bedroom.

anything would be of a great great help

Thank you

Are you using a power window kit that comes with relays and switches?  Or are you needing a diagram for the relays that will be needed to do this?  Very easy if you are using a kit and very easy if you are using relays  just a lot of typing.

Maybe we can get this moved to the relays forum.

No I am not using any sort of kit, what I have is teh switches from a power window system but in it the max number of switches used to control one window is two, I want to use three for the passenger side.

But, if relays would be better...Id be willing to do that. I would think then I would need different switches?? than stock ones  I have.???

Thanks

Kevin

How many wires do they have on each of the switches you have?   What is the current (amperage) rating on the switch?  If they are rated below 10 amps, I would use relays.  It will take 2 relays for each window.

The above link will take you to a picture that should help you.  Assuming you have simple SPDT rocker switches.  You can connect as many switches as you like.  This will have to be done for each window.    If you have a different type of switches let me know what you have.
