I am trying to install an alarm/remote starter into a 1998 Mercury Villager. According to the manual, the tach signal is:
"Tach - GREEN / WHITE(AC) - Ignition Module or PCM "

I don't know where the PCM exactly is, and I can't find that color wire on the igniton module. Can someone please point me in the right direction, which is the easier to do? Also, is it OK to solder the alarm's wire directly on the tach wire at the ignition module, I'm not sure about the AC current. Thanks.

Both tech sites i looked at are saying the wire is Green @ ignition module, and yes you should solder the 2 together, that will give you the longest lasting connection.

the PCM should be beind the glove box, and your tach wire should be in pin 3 (GREEN / WHITE).

You could also use an injector wire. It would be the uncommon color.
