I have a 2006 Mazda MPV I am getting ready to install a dvd player and 4 headrest monitors, however the second row of seats are removable in the van and I would like to keep this feature so I am trying to figure out what i could use to be able to disconnect the wires at the base of the seat if I need to remove them without taking the wires out of the seats or have them on the outside of the seat to temp the kids.

you can use some point contact (making this name up) things..errr..i know i've seen them before. they are used to hook up speakers or whatever between the door jamb
Looks like this kind of
----u---u---u---u----
----n---n---n---n----
just like brass nodes on a plate of plastic...with wires on the other side conecting one wire to each node(the contact part) so when the door, or i assume seat, presses together. then the nodes make contact.

Buy it, install it, play with it. Then take it back out, read the instructions, install it better!
i'm sure they can be adapted to work when the seat makes contact with the floor...same principle

or i guess i'm making it hard...just splice everything and use a quick connect coupler thing...like the back of the radio...just click in the seats and then the video/power wires.

found it...
www.painlessperformance.com look under connectors and pigtails. think they are called jamb contact wireless connectors...one of the part numbers is 40025. I'm pretty sure they can be modified to work..lots of good stuff on this website. or google electrical connectors..found lots of stuff

Radioshack sells molex style quick disconnects that are polarized and everything so you can't connect the incorrectly.
You could also get a barrel connector for the video cable so that it just comes part with the power connections.
