Friends I have a 2006 GMC Yukon Denali that I would like to install a factory panasonic overhead dvd player/monitor in. The vehicle has the navigation radio and the power sunroof as options. Standard Bose sound, XM, CD changer, and rear seat radio controls. I have seen several units on ebay and I am currently bidding on one. My questions are: 1) Is the wiring harness for the DVD player already tucked up inside the headliner and easy to get to? 2) What does the player housing mount to/attach to? are there mounting holes already there? 3) If #1 and #2 are not existing what is it that I need to do to get this to work? Thanks for you help in advance.

You won't find any wiring for the unit whatsoever in the car. I can tell you the harness travels to the back of the radio who knows where else. As for the mount, samething. Nothing there at all. You may be able to get the brackets and harnesses at the dealer but expect it to be expensive and a lot of work. I do know installing the bracket will require you to remove the entire headliner. Man, it sure would have been easier to install an aftermarket unit....

I agree with Mike. To make the unit work, hopefully it is in working order, you would be far better off getting an aftermarket unit. By the time you source out a harness/plug wire it into the vehicle, mock up the correct mounting brackets and OH YEAH maybe replace the headliner you will waste a lot of time and money. You may want to check other vehicles to see if the headliner is different. If it isn't, that alone is worth hundreds of dollars.
