I am getting ready to install a mobile video system for my 2002 Avalanche. I have everything figured out except how to get power and ground to the DVD player, 3 moniters, video amp, and back-up camera. What would be the best way to get a power and ground wires from the interior of the cab to the engine compartment. And also should I go to the fuse block or the battery? Any advice and other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also I will be pulling about 12 amps total what size wire should I use.

All these devices are low current and do not need alot of amperage to run. I suggest going to the igntion switch for the power. If you wish to run a new wire from the battery, you can use an 8 gauge wire and run it into a distribution block to ease of distribution to all devices. As far as the ground is concerned, the shorter the wire the better. Try not to run your ground a long distance and make sure that the ground is on a clean, paint free surface.
