I have a friend with a 2008 Chevy truck.

He bought a  Bose Navigation system  for it, Everything works but the volume is really low.  I haven't seen it or anything, so I don't know all the details...

Any suggestions???? what it could be

The radio in those vehicles must be set up with a GM computer to work correctly. The radio may also not be the correct one even though it looks correct and plugs in. If the truck doesn't have the upscale system in it from the factory, you are missing the amplifier too. The Nav radios are only designed to send a signal to the factory amp and really aren't capable of driving speakers directly.

Exactly, you can't just add a Nav and not have the Bose amp in the truck if the nav requires it.
