Good day,

I've got a Magellan Maestro 3210 which has a mini USB plug on it. I know I can't just cut the cigarette lighter portion off of a plug and hard wire it into a 2005 Dodge Ram, but is there any other way? I haven't found a hard wiring kit or anything from Magellan for this series.

Would I need resistors? Is it just a 5v power supply rather then 12v? Is it even possible?

Thanks,
MePH

Very simple to do and two ways to do it.  1) simply buy a female cigarette adapter from a radioshack type store and then simply wire the power into an acc wire and a ground.  option 2 is the poor man's way and it is simply soldering a wire onto the tip of the adapter(positive) and another onto the side peices(ground) then connect to the truck.  the ecaxt colors for acc i cannot remember right now
