Does anyone know how to or know where to find a write up on how to convert an older PS2 to run on 12 volts? There were a few topics on this already but all the links are old and lead no where. I know you can just pop out the circuit board that converts the 120AC to 12V DC however I am looking to put this in a car. I need a regulator of sorts to keep the fluctuating automotive voltage (10-14.4V) at 12V. The big issue I am running into is that I cannot seem to find a regulator that will output the necessary amperage to run the PS2 and/or have the ability to up convert voltage if the car is not running (input voltage usually needs to be a volt or two above the output voltage...if the car is not running 12v-1v=not enough). I've done a lot of research on this already but, surprisingly, I cannot find a write up on this. Hopefully someone out there in install land can help.

Thanks

Huh, we have always just used a 50 dollar inverter. Works fine....

I'm trying to avoid doing that. Seems somewhat silly to convert 12V to 120 then back down to 12. Much more energy is wasted when the conversions are done with an inverter. Besides, the circuit to regulate the voltage I cannot see costing more than $10 to make. Just can't find a regulator with the necessary specs but I know it's been done.
