I recently installed a DVD along with a FM Modulator. The modulator has eight differnt freq. and all sound like I do not have it tuned in properly,  lots of backgrond static. The modulator is a Farenheit EFM-01. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only advice I have on fm mods are to make sure that the chassis of the mod is not touching ground.

Sound quailty on fm modulators just suck, if you don't want any background noise or anything like that you'll need to directly tie into the speakers or an amp.

I have it installed in a 2002 Avalanche.  I appreciate everyones advice. I would have thought that a FM modulator would sound better than this as alot of people us them for satelite radios, and cd changers. I have  it hooked up to the factory radio. I have a Pioneer head unit in my Avalanche where I was able to use the ip bus as an aux input.  It sounds great. I hope there is a way to make this install sound better. I am not one to easily give up. Thanks again and if anyone else has any ideas, lets hear them.

If the dvd player has rca audio output you could just wire it to a 4 channel amp and then run speaker wires to all the speakers - Just make sure you turn off the factory radio before turning on the dvd player other wise you might blow the speakers.

Something you've probably already done, but worth asking just in case,  have you tried adjusting the volume/output on the DVD player itself?

I've used FM Modulators a couple of times. I've used cheap ones that sound terrible, but I have found the more expensive ones do sound good. I have one now in my minivan, can't remember the brand but it was expensive, about $90 CDN.

I am a bit confused, are you using a factory radio, or are you using a Pioneer? If you are using a factory get an adapter from[URL=https://www.installer.com/aux/index.html ]part number GM9-AUX
