Anyone ever replace the factory sub that is between the seats? I have access to JL, but not to test with. Basically I wanna know how it may sound with a JL 6w3. I will be trying to run it off the factory amp, but am not restricted by that. Any ideas?

I am not sure about the Viper or the amps in the Chrysler vehicles, but I can tell you that the Ford factory sub setup is limited by the amplifier. Take the factory amp off of a King Ranch and replace it with a decent amp and really hear it come to life. In my opinion, if you are replacing the woofer, you should at least consider replacing the amp.

in the vipers that i have done i always use a new amp to power the sub/subs that i put in. the subs that i have used are as follows.

two of the JL 6 inch subs wich sound amazing

i also have used some CDT 6 1/2 inch subs wich sound insanely great

depending on the setup and wich subs you use, different amps can be used
you just have to look at how much you want to spend and how much room you want to use. but typically i will use JL amps, audison , brax, us amps, and alpine
