Hello,
My installer put in a Clarion DRZ9255, Hybrid Audio Technology speakers a couple of Tru billet amps and a Focal 33wx sub. I would like to add a navigation system and have the ability to fully utilize a IMOD modified IPOD (soundwise).Clarion uses Cenet connects but I was wondering if I could use the aux on the HU and cenet to nav to get text and control the IPOD without locking the IPOD. Also rather than using Clarion for the nav, let's say I used a Kenwood DNX7120 is there a way to connect
both the Kenwood & DRZ9255(contol IPOD through Kenwood 7120 and put IPOD audio though the DRZ9255? My installer sez to feed the DRZ9255 from whatever nav unit...and I might lose some SQ and will lose voice
promts unless another dedicated speaker is installed just for this? If somebody can understand what I'm trying to do and has a clue, please respond. We, the installer and I are literally in the woods in the U.P. of Michigan. No one I can really talk to about this for hundreds of miles. THANK YOU in advance!-Sam-

So you want to add a second "stand-alone" unit that does nav, and then feed that signal into the DRZ-9255?

If this is correct, then you'd have to use the pre-outs of the nav, and the Aux input to the DRZ-9255.  I agree with your installer friend, that you will lose sound quality from the iPod to the DRZ-9255 using the Aux input.

Seems like you're tryin to put two engines in the same car.

Well, sorta' Megaman. What I'm thinking is to use them seperate but at the same time. IPOD audio direct to DRZ input, perhaps split to Kenwood 7120 for on screen control of Ipod. I would have a couple of dedicated speakers for Nav voice promts only from the Kenwood, there would be no audio connects between the Kenwood and DRZ. I would like to use 2 Clarion optical out changers master/slave, perhaps sacrificing one of them for on screen menu/control(this is where I might have to use a Clarion nav unit because of CeNet, unless I can come up with custom interconnects)? I've heard that Clarion optical changers can be fooled while using a source such as an Ipod by splicing, supposedly fairly easy but I'm still looking into to that one.
