alright I've searched all over 12v and google and I cant find anything to help me with this.
I have a Panasonic CN-nvd905u In-dash display with a rear view camera hooked up... everything works fine and all but what I would like to do is have a delay in the circuit so that when I take my shifter out of Reverse the video feed will stay on for about 2sec... reason why I have a 96 integra thats stick with a stage 4 clutch so when I reverse I throw it in neutral and roll a little to a stop before driving off
^thats the wire diagram for the unit and how its currently hooked up^
try a DEI 528T pulse timer. it can be hooked up many different ways and has completely adjustable timer output. it can be triggered when it sees a pulse or when a pulse goes away. you will be able to trigger it on when your reverse light goes away, tie the output to your unit. the unit will see that the reverse lights are still on. you may also want to diode isolate it from your reverse light wire si that it doesnt feed back into it and keep the reverse lights as long as the camera is on as well, unless you want them to be. there is a wiring diagram of the 528T on this site
thanks ween I'll try that... so do I hook the cap before or after the diode???? I tried using a 1000uf cap with the lead to the trigger and grounding it out but nothing happened I'll try it now with a diode... thanks
and no offense ckeeler but im tired of searching threads and everyone answering buy this or buy that I thought to purpose of this site was diy work if I just wanted to buy a easy fix I would pay someone to do it but then I wouldn't have to banging rights of saying I did it
-thanks guys
diode with band towards head unit, capacitor positive lead connected there also.

yeah it worked I tryed a 1000uf cap first and it lasted way too long... so I switched it with a 100uf cap and it has a perfect 8.5sec delay and doesn't keep the reverse lights on...
thanks
