The Alpine CVS-1003 only controls other Alpine slave DVD units. The reason is the M-Bus connector is not the same for the Alpine and the Pioneer or the Clarion. These are pretty much non interchangeable components as far as controls go.

yes i know that already. alpine cva-1003 and other like that have the ai-net system, i wanted to know which of those 2 dvd players is better ,they will be runing instandalone, not controlled by the head unit
i could get the alpine dva dvd player but first its almost a grand and second it doesnt have a detachable face.
so of the pionner and clarion which one is better to get?

Out of the two I would get the Pioneer just for the fact that I have dealt with Pioneer for the past 5 years and never had a warranty claim on any of their products. The Clarion I am not familiar with, but look at all the options and features that it has for both and make your decision on that.

thats what i was doing but im a little confused
the pionner is that a stand alone unit, i dont need any thing else do run it right, i looked through the fetures and it says works with the ip bus and all this other things and not really to much detail on its stand alone use, also does it plays cdr/cdrw/mp3. the clarion does but the pioneer doesnt say anything about it.
i have the alpine cd changer that plays all those but sometime i just through a cd into my dvd player now so i dont have to go and start to changed discks and stuff
please let me know
thanks

96kHz/24-bit D/A Converter Controlled by IP-BUS Headunit AV Entertainment Master Unit and External Control by any IP-BUS Headunit Stand-alone Use with a Supplied Remote You loose the control functions from the HU but you get a stand alone remote control to control the DVD player through another video source. It's a DVD, VCD & CD play back, no mention of mp3 or CDR or CD-RW play back. ------------- Jeff
