Subject: which nav?

It has been a while since I posted anything on this website. Since my last post I have purchase a new car. A 2008 Altima.

I have been doing a lot of research on double din nav units. I have always had Alpine or Pioneer Premier HU before and love them both. I have just purchased a 2008 Altima 2.5s Conv. and I hate not been able to play MP3cds. my other problems is that about 3 months or so my TomTom Go 510 was stolen out of my 98 Monte(my old car). I have been looking at a new go 730 or 930 but then I started thinking, why not get an in dash all in one.

So here is my deal, I have been saving for a new TomTom but instead of getting that I'm going to get an in dash all in one unit. So far i have $600 so I wont be able to buy it till about Christmas. Here are the choices i have been looking at. First we have the Pioneer AVIC-z3. My second choice is a Alpine IVA-W203/P1 . And my third choice so far is a Kenwood DNX8120 . I'm kinda sad that Eclipse doesn't have anything better out.

Right now I'm leaning towards the DNX8120, since it does have a 13 band EQ and its Nav is done by Garmin(I couldn't find who makes the others Nav) I like the Hi res screen on the Alpine. What do you think about these and is there any other Nav system you recommend?

what do you mean Eclipse needs something better?  I deal with Eclipse and for me, it's a lot easier, cheaper, and sounds a lot better than any other's that you are talking about.  The video bypass is extremely easier for DVD playback as well.  The only issue I have with the Eclipse is the inability to play videos from the ipod.

The problem with Eclipse is the lack of internal Bluetooth. That said, the Kenwwod has issues with new Blackberry's working and they don't seem to care. I Do like the Garmin nav used by Kenwood tho. If you aren't gonna use bluetooth i do prefer the Eclipse....

Its hard to beat the Garmin navi on the Kenwoods.  Although I would recommend the new AVIC F Series, ive put in several and they are very nice.  It has video ipod playback, built in nav (no disc needed), built in bluetooth, voice controlled ipod and bluetooth and msn content on the 900 level.  Less than a grand, its a steal.
