Hi,
I recently installed a used Panasonic CQ-VD6503U DVD player in my car, only to find out that the rear left channel is giving me a loud annoying noise. A friend told me that the rear output IC is blown.
Now my real problem is that the HU is cutting off every 10 minutes of play, and i have to turn the ignition off and back on for the HU to turn on again.
Normally when the car is started and the HU is off, the SRC and the Eject buttons light up. After the HU cuts off (by itself) these 2 buttons remain lighting but they do not work.
Can the rear IC being blown be the cause of the HU cutting off?
Any help will be appreciated.

When the unit shuts off, is the back of the unit so hot that you can not hold your hand on it? Have you disconnected the speaker from the radio and checked for grounded speaker wires or shorted speaker.

Yes the HU is hot.
I checked the same speaker with the other outputs of the HU but it played very good with them.

I am not familiar with that deck, but some of the newer decks do have thermal protection that will shut the radio off if it gets too hot.

Which means every 10 minutes it overheats. But can the blown IC cause it to overheat??
